  1. Nvidia is releasing the GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card today, and to match with it, the company also has a Game Ready driver with official support for the new hardware. The Nvidia WHQL-certified 576.52 Game Ready driver also has support for Dune: Awakening and F1 25, bringing tech like DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation on launch day. Nvidia says the new desktop GPU is available today starting at $300, with cards coming from board partners like ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC. Using its DLSS 4 frame generation tech, the company says that the RTX 5060 8GB will have double the performance of the RTX 4060. Here are the gaming and general bug fixes included in this release: The problems Nvidia engineers are still working on solving are these: The Nvidia 576.52 driver is now available for download in the Nvidia app and GeForce Experience. 2. DOOM: The Dark Ages is now available for those with early access, and it looks like those playing on PC have an uphill battle. DOOM: The Dark Ages launched on May 12 for those who received early access via the Premium Edition or Collector's Bundle; it goes live for all on May 14. With the advance launch comes a rather long list of known issues and some potential fixes, posted in the game's Community section on Steam. The majority of the issues appear to be related to PC. More specifically, it seems like NVIDIA's drivers are causing a lot of chaos, especially if you're using an RTX 40- or RTX 50-series graphics card. I covered NVIDIA's release of Game Ready driver 576.40 on May 12, and listed at the top of the DOOM FAQ is a notice that this exact driver (released to support DOOM: The Dark Ages) might cause persistent crashing when playing the game. The recommended fix is to restart your PC, reinstall the driver, and relaunch the game. It's not all bad news, and many of the PC-related issues can be fixed There's some good news. Many of the known issues listed by developer id Software have solutions. While you may be able to iron out some wrinkles, others are tied to measures beyond the control of id Software and its audience. One major issue has the game crashing on RTX 50-series GPUs when G-Sync or V-Sync + Multi Frame Generation (MFG) are enabled through NVIDIA's control panel. Another has the game disappearing into the background, inaccessible, when you Alt-Tab while the game is launching. Yes, this is another issue for NVIDIA GPUs. But NVIDIA isn't all alone; AMD also looks to be having some issues with DOOM: The Dark Ages when FSR FrameGen is enabled. The game can freeze if you attempt to resize the game window. And if you're attempting to play the game on the ASUS ROG Ally or the Lenovo Legion Go, you're bound to experience some awful performance and stability. These gaming handheld issues are tied to driver issues, and id Software says it's "working with manufacturers to resolve." Known PC-related issues with DOOM: The Dark Ages Here's a full list pulled from Steam of known DOOM: The Dark Ages issues for those playing on PC. Issue: If you are playing on an RTX 50 series GPU and enable G-Sync (supported display required) or V-Sync plus Multi Frame Generation through NVIDIA Control Panel you can crash the game. Resolution: Until a driver fix is available, the workaround for this issue is to either disable one of these options in the NVIDIA control panel or if you want both enabled, set them in-game. Issue: If you are playing on an RTX 40 or 50 series GPU and enable Multi Frame Generation or FrameGen, V-Sync still shows as enabled. Resolution: This is a minor cosmetic issue – the game disables V-Sync under the hood in these cases. Issue: Users with NVIDIA GPUs may find that Alt-Tabbing while launching the game can cause the game to launch in the background and not be accessible. Resolution: This is a known driver issue. Until a fix is available in a driver update, to avert this issue, avoid Alt-Tabbing during game launch. If encountered, it can be resolved by restarting your PC. Issue: Users with NVIDIA 50 series GPUs may experience TDRs or system hangs when starting gameplay recording using Shadowplay with MultiFrameGen set to 3x or 4x. Resolution: To avoid this issue, either do not use the noted MFG settings or record gameplay with a different application. Issue: If capturing with OBS, game visuals may freeze when Alt-tabbing from Fullscreen Resolution: Until there is an update from OBS, the workaround for the issue is to capture in Windowed or Borderless mode. Issue: The game can lock up when manually resizing the game window with FSR FrameGen enabled. Resolution: To avoid this issue, do not manually resize the game window with FSR FrameGen enabled. Issue: Users who unplug a 2nd monitor during gameplay may notice that the game has frozen. Resolution: To avoid this issue, do not unplug any monitors while playing the game. Issue: Players running the game with the MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner overlays enabled may experience stability issues. Resolution: To avoid this issue, do not run the game with either application running in the background. Issue: In rare cases, players running DOOM: The Dark Ages on a supported PC spec at appropriate settings, who have the latest GPU drivers installed and also have an intel CPU model number that starts with the number 13 or 14 can run into persistent crashing. Resolution: In such cases, you may have a corrupted CPU. Please contact intel Customer Support at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact.html Known DOOM: The Dark Ages issues with all platforms and gameplay These identified issues apply to DOOM: The Dark Ages no matter what platform you're using. Issue: FOV changes do not carry over into Cinematics or interactive events, such as shield bashing through walls. Resolution: This is by design but we are evaluating a possible change to make FOV changes global in a post-launch update. Issue: Changes on the FOV slider after Cinematics or Wall Shield Bashes may not affect display. Resolution: This is a temporary issue that will reset when changing levels, loading checkpoints, or returning to the Main Menu. Issue: In rare cases, the Vagary in Ancestral Forge may disappear and block access to the collectible item placed at the wolf statue. Resolution: If you encounter this issue, the workaround is to reload the checkpoint. Issue: The “Barrel Stuffer” and “Super Barrel Stuffer” Mastery challenges may not appear to increment when expected. Resolution: Per the challenge descriptions, every pellet must hit demons, and this can be difficult if the demon is too small or dies before all pellets hit. Try on Heavy and Super-Heavy Demons for more consistent progress. Issue: You may maneuver the Slayer onto geometry or objects outside of intended, navigable space, and then become stuck. Resolution: If this occurs, and the object is not destructible, the workaround is to reload the checkpoint. Issue: In Siege – Part 1, the combat encounter in front of a cave to one of the Hell Portals in the swamp side of the map may not spawn under very specific conditions, blocking the player from continuing. Resolution: The current work around is to Reload the Checkpoint, which resolves the issue. Rare reports where this has occurred involve saving this Hell Portal for last, so approaching this encounter earlier may also avoid the issue. Issue: If you defeat a demon with a Melee attack while the Shield Saw is still embedded, the Shield may appear invisible in the hands for some time. Resolution: The Shield Saw will reappear after multiple uses. Issue: Some users may find that an additional button press is required to input actions when first opening the Dossier. Resolution: We are investigating a fix for a future patch. In the meantime, if you experience this issue, press your first input twice as a workaround. Issue: Some users may find that the amount of Gold in their inventory doesn’t change after purchasing an upgrade. Resolution: We are investigating a fix for a future patch. In the meantime, please be aware that this issue is purely cosmetic and that the Gold in your inventory will update after backing out of the Sentinel Shrine UI. Issue: In some cases, users may experience icons not appearing correctly after button actions have been remapped. Resolution: Remapped buttons will appear correctly after backing out of and re-entering the Inputs menu. As always, it's recommended you fill out the report if you experience a crash. This helps the developers identify new issues as well as fix old issues. Source Hope you enjoyed this news post. Thank you for appreciating my time and effort posting news every day for many years. 6. After releasing a big hotfix driver with a lot of RTX 50-specific bug fixes just two days ago, Nvidia is dropping a new Game-Ready WHQL driver under version 576.28. It does not contain support for any upcoming game and there are no new features. The sole goal of driver 576.28 is to fix a multitude of bugs that haunt RTX 50 series owners. Those include grey screen crashes, flickering, freezes, low GPU clocks on idle, incorrect temperature reporting, and more. 7. Laptops with Core Ultra 200V chips CPUs Arc 130V or 140V GPUs should benefit. Intel's oddball Core Ultra 200V laptop chips—codenamed Lunar Lake—will apparently be a one-off experiment, not to be replicated in future Intel laptop chips. They're Intel's only processors with memory integrated onto the CPU package; the only ones with a neural processing unit that meets Microsoft's Copilot+ performance requirements; and the only ones with Intel's best-performing integrated GPUs, the Intel Arc 130V and 140V. Today, Intel announced some updates to its graphics driver that specifically benefit those integrated GPUs, welcome news for anyone who bought one and is trying to get by with it as an entry-level gaming system. Intel says that version 32.0.101.6734 of its graphics driver can speed up average frame rates in some games by around 10 percent, and can speed up "1 percent low FPS" (that is, for any given frames per second measurement, whatever your frame rate is the slowest 1 percent of the time) by as much as 25 percent. This should, in theory, make games run better in general and ease some of the stuttering you notice when your game's performance dips down to that 1 percent level. Intel's performance numbers for its new GPU drivers on a laptop running at the "common default power level" of 17 W. Credit: Intel Intel's performance comparisons were made using an MSI Claw 7 AI+ using an Arc 140V GPU, and they compare the performance of driver version 32.0.101.6732 (released April 2) to version 32.0.101.6734 (released April 8). The two additional driver packages Intel has released since then will contain the improvements, too. Intel says these drivers primarily help performance when the chip is running "at or under the common default power level of 17 W," which could explain why the company isn't advertising similar performance gains for the Intel Arc B580 or B570, its desktop GPUs built using the same graphics architecture. Dedicated desktop GPUs obviously have a bigger power budget than a small integrated GPU that's sharing space and power with the CPU cores and everything else that's included in a modern CPU package, so the optimizations in the new driver may not matter as much. Intel's latest graphics drivers are available for all Arc A- and B-series desktop and mobile GPUs, as well as the integrated Iris Xe, Arc, and UHD Graphics GPUs included in 11th-generation Core processors and newer. Anyone should be able to install and use the generic drivers from Intel's site, but laptop users in particular may notice instability or wake/sleep issues compared to the driver that your computer manufacturer has tested and validated. Intel says computer manufacturers will release validated drivers with the performance improvements "over the coming months." Source Hope you enjoyed this news post. 8. The current generation of Nvidia graphics cards has seen a lot so far. Problems on launch, crazy prices, literally missing bits of hardware, customer discontent with the lack of VRAM, just to name a few. To add insult to injury, Nvidia's drivers have been suffering from plenty of issues, including problems with temperature reporting, instabilities, black screens, and more. We have already seen a bunch of big driver updates, including several hotfixes, and Nvidia now has another one to address quite a few problems, mainly in the RTX 50 Series lineup. You can now download GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 576.26. Here is what is included in today's update: Nvidia adds that driver 576.26 also includes the following seven fixes from GeForce Hotfix 576.15: The driver is available on the official website via this link. As for other issues, like the lack of VRAM, there are rumors that Nvidia's upcoming SUPER variants will bring some much-needed memory size improvements to multiple GPUs across the lineup. 9. Nvidia's RTX 5000 series desktop launch has been one of the worst in the company's history, and we are not exaggerating when we say that. That is because the 50-series has been plagued with misleading marketing claims, burnt and melted power connectors, and loads of display issues related to the graphics driver. The company has been continuously fixing such problems, and the latest driver version, 576.02, also resolves a variety of such issues, including ones on Windows 11 24H2 that are related to "general stability, and black screens." However, as Neowin reader LiLmEgZ pointed out in the article comments, users are still encountering plenty of problems despite the driver package being packed with bugfixes. One such problem is related to temperature sensor data reading as the GPU temperature on the Nvidia App gets stuck at certain temperature points. For example, the feedback thread on the GeForce forum that talks about this mentions that the user's Asus ROG Astral RTX 5090 read a constant 25 degree Celsius. It looks like a reboot is necessary to fix the problem. The user goku5993 writes: Other commenters on the thread also encountered the same problem on 5080, 5070, and it is not just isolated to 50-series either as RTX 40-series and RTX 30-series GPU owners are also affected. Another user marioho writes: If you are on Nvidia's 576.02 driver and are having to deal with this problem, the best thing to do would be to roll back to the previous driver version, as users say this fixes the problem. This workaround is reminiscent of what even the game devs had suggested recently due to GeForce driver issues. Source Hope you enjoyed this news post. 13. NVIDIA's Game Ready driver version 576.02 arrived yesterday with a massive list of bug fixes, but some users continue to report the same stability issues. NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti launched yesterday, and with it came a new Game Ready driver that supports the new GPU. The biggest news surrounding the new 576.02 driver, however, is the extensive list of bug fixes. NVIDIA focused on solving specific problems in specific games — flickering, crashing, stuttering, banding, artifacting, etc. — but it also called out fixes for more general issues. Here's a look at the problems NVIDIA claims to have solved. A look at specific gaming bugs supposedly fixed by NVIDIA Game Ready driver 576.02. (Image credit: NVIDIA) A look at general bugs supposedly fixed by NVIDIA Game Ready driver 576.02. (Image credit: NVIDIA) These fixes couldn't come at a better time. At least, that would be the case if NVIDIA's fixes were concrete. That doesn't seem to be the case, as reports online of issues with the new driver installed begin to pile up once again. I waded into the NVIDIA subreddit's driver megathread to check in on user status. Judging by the feedback, the new drivers have solved issues for some users but not for others. And there doesn't seem to be a clear pattern. One potential remedy for certain games appears to involve deleting the game's shader cache following the driver update. This move seems to have solved problems in Monster Hunter Wilds and Path of Exile 2, but your experience may vary. In any case, it appears that NVIDIA has failed to completely clean up the issues that have been plaguing its GeForce cards for the majority of 2025. NVIDIA's current driver issues explained Since the launch of NVIDIA's RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 in January — which came with a new 572.16 driver — users have reported everything from black screens and GPU detection failure to outright game and system crashes. NVIDIA was quick to announce it was investigating reported issues with the RTX 50-series in February. It's not just those with an RTX 50-series GPU, either. NVIDIA's driver issues have been experienced by RTX 40-series and 30-series users, and the solution was to roll back to a driver from before the 50-series launch. The driver, version 566.36, was released in December 2024, and it remains stable. But there's a big problem. The stable driver was released before NVIDIA added DLSS 4 support, which means it doesn't provide access to new features like Multi Frame Generation (MFG) or full support for new games. But considering a lot of the issues seemed to stem from DLSS and G-Sync, playing without the features was better than not playing at all. With certain game developers recommending in patch notes to use an older driver, and with Gamers Nexus replicating many of the issues reported online, NVIDIA clearly had to perform some major surgery on its support system. I was hopeful when I saw the long list of 576.02 bug fixes, but gamers aren't in the clear quite yet. I'm curious to know your experience with the new NVIDIA driver. What are/were your issues? Did the new driver fix them? What GPU are you using? Be sure to let me know in the comments section below! Source Hope you enjoyed this news post. 14. Nvidia has a brand-new graphics driver available for GeForce hardware users, and it has support for the company's latest graphics card release. Like other recent drivers from Nvidia, a large number of bug fixes are here again, too, mainly aimed at resolving crashes and black screens. The Nvidia WHQL-certified 576.02 Game Ready driver has support for the RTX 5060 Ti GPU that launches today, April 16. DLSS 4 support has also arrived for the games Black Myth: Wukong and No More Room in Hell 2 as well. 15. It's not just you. NVIDIA's Game Ready drivers are causing problems for countless users. Here's what you can do about it until NVIDIA offers an official fix. NVIDIA has released five new versions of its Game Ready drivers since 572.16 (which arrived alongside RTX 50-series GPUs), but it hasn't fixed the root of the problems experienced by many gamers. Gamers Nexus has now published a video replicating and confirming the NVIDIA driver issues that countless users have reported. GN Host Stephen Burke calls the overall situation "absolutely abhorrent and completely embarrassing," and I don't think that's being too harsh. But before I cover GN's findings (and temporary fixes), a bit of backstory regarding NVIDIA's 572.XX drivers. NVIDIA's current driver issues began in January 2025 NVIDIA's driver issues kicked off with the release of the RTX 5090. (Image credit: Windows Central | Ben Wilson) The first of NVIDIA's new RTX 50-series graphics cards launched on January 30, 2025, and NVIDIA simultaneously released its Game Ready 572.16 driver package to support the latest hardware. Early adopters of the RTX 5090 were the first to sound the alarm after the driver update went out, but it wasn't long before 40-series users were also reporting issues with driver version 572.16. Whether it was random black screens, detection failure, or outright crashes, it was clear that something wasn't working as intended. In late March, Tom's Hardware highlighted an in-depth user analysis on the r/Hardware subreddit, which aims to uncover issues surrounding the 572.XX drivers and RTX 40-series cards (which the Redditor is using). The top comment in response to the Reddit analysis is, unsurprisingly, an early RTX 5080 adopter claiming they have the same crashing and black screen problems as the 40-series user. Another user chimed in, claiming their RTX 3070 needed a rollback due to crashes, suggesting the issue is more widespread than I first thought. As the author of the Reddit post suggests, rolling back your NVIDIA driver to version 566.36 — launched December 5, 2024 — seems to alleviate these issues. However, rolling back to the driver from the pre-RTX 5000 landscape comes with several drawbacks. NVIDIA enabled new features like DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and DLSS4 Overrides with its post-RTX 5000 drivers, and it added support for plenty of new games that feature DLSS tech. What's the point of buying an RTX 50-series GPU if you can't use some of its most-hyped features? Multi Frame Generation (MFG) is what allowed NVIDIA to claim the RTX 5070 is as powerful as the RTX 4090 during its CES 2025 keynote presentation, and it's evidently unusable by plenty of people. Gamers Nexus replicates and confirms NVIDIA's driver issues Gamers Nexus uploaded a new video over the weekend that highlights and ultimately proves these issues are coming from NVIDIA's side. More specifically, GN tested hardware setups similar to those listed by users as causing problems. Using NVIDIA's 572.83 driver with an RTX 4070 Super Founders Edition GPU, GN quickly discovered replicable crashes in Star Wars: Outlaws, Marvel Rivals, Cyberpunk 2077, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Dual-monitor G-Sync setups with NVIDIA Frame Generation enabled seem to trigger these bugs most frequently, and it seems like the physical video out port in use on the GPU is a factor. Beyond that, DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex could be causing problems in some cases. With six 572.XX drivers released since the RTX 50-series launch, it doesn't seem like NVIDIA is hurrying to fix these issues. GN offers some workarounds in the meantime. Reseating your video cables in different video ports on the GPU is the first (and easiest) recommendation, and it's also suggested that you switch to HDMI if you're currently using DisplayPort. You should also consider disabling NVIDIA G-Sync and Frame Generation to test for increased stability. Game devs are now recommending against NVIDIA's latest drivers inZOI might not work properly if you're using the latest drivers with an RTX 40- or 30-series GPU. (Image credit: Krafton / Steam) As expected, game developers are as keen to take advantage of NVIDIA's latest features as are the buyers of NVIDIA's cards. At least two games fresh on the market — inZOI and The First Berserker: Khazan — have now resorted to suggesting that players roll back their NVIDIA drivers to avoid issues. inZOI's v0.1.2 hotfix comes with advice on which driver is best for each series of NVIDIA GPU. inZOI's suggestions on which drivers to use based on your NVIDIA GPU. (Image credit: inZOI Studio) The recommended NVIDIA drivers for inZOI look a lot like what's being suggested by The First Berserker: Khazan's developers. The NVIDIA drivers suggested by the developers of The First Berserker: Khazan. (Image credit: Neople | NEXON) Setting the drivers back to pre-RTX 50 launch also means you'll be missing out on the latest NVIDIA features, which isn't ideal. I sincerely hope that NVIDIA can pinpoint the cause of these issues and release a new 572.XX driver to fix it. Source Hope you enjoyed this news post.
